Join Us
We are always interested in hearing from excellent and motivated graduate student and postdoctoral candidates who are interested to join our team. You should have, or be about to obtain, a degree in Physics or Materials Science, with a strong background in condensed matter and/or materials physics. Our labs are based in the beautiful coastal town of St Andrews, 30 miles northeast of Edinburgh, and we also perform extensive experiments at synchrotron light sources around the world. You should be keen explore new scientific problems utilising these capabilities, or by developing new ones.
Postdoctoral Fellowships
We are always happy to hear from exceptional candidates who are interested in taking up postdoc positions with our group. Specific open vacancies and projects will be listed on our news feed as they arise. Additionally, we are happy to discuss hosting applications for fellowships to be based within the Centre, including for the Marie Curie intra-european and incoming international fellowships, JSPS, Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, and EPSRC schemes. Please contact Phil at philip.king@st-andrews.ac.uk if you are interested in making an application to one of these schemes.
PhD studentships
We have funded opportunities for 3.5 and 4-year PhD positions available via a number of schemes including:
